Getting to Know the Village of Los Lunas
Los Lunas is a small neighbor
to the south of Albuquerque. Due to the tremendous growth of Albuquerque
and the difficulties Albuquerque is experiencing in growth since the
only direction left for it to grow is to the west, Los Lunas is receiving
much of the growth overflow. Though geographically, Los Lunas
is 24 miles from Albuquerque, most of that distance is along Interstate
25 which takes you straight into the heart of Albuquerque. Los
Lunas is a good alternative for those looking for less expensive housing
who don’t mind a short commute into Albuquerque or who travel frequently
and very quick access to the freeway is important to them. Los
Lunas real estate is still very attractively priced and it is expected
that this area will continue to grow almost as a suburb or the greater
Albuquerque area.
Los Lunas as an Investment - Land or Homes
Growth Prospects are Enormous
What makes Los Lunas particularly interesting is that it is being enveloped
by the greater Albuquerque metro. Los Lunas, a small city even by New Mexico
standards, has and will continue to have extraordinary growth because its much,
much larger neighbor Albuquerque is running out of room to grow and is sending
some of that growth south to Los Lunas. Though there is job growth in Los Lunas,
the population increases happening in Los Lunas are being caused by a combination
of Los Lunas's own growth and Albuquerque's growth. Land and Homes in Los Lunas
are likely to appreciate at much higher levels than normal due to the higher
rates of growth.
Master Planned Communities
Huning Ranch
This community sits on the
west side of Interstate 25 near the Los Lunas exit and behind the new
movie cinema. Huning Ranch features homes from four builders,
miles of trails for walking and biking, a large community park as well
as several smaller parks, a proposed community center, three proposed
school sites, and proposed commercial sites.
Tome Vista
Perched on the mesa land rising out of the Rio Grande valley, Tome Vista allows
homeowners beautiful views of the valley below and the mountains far to the
west. Tome Vista is still early on in its development and will change as it
grows during the coming years, it currently is the value priced community while
still in Phase I of its development.
